RACE LOCATION:

Camp Ton-A-Wandah, 300 W Ton A Wandah Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28739

PARKING:

All participants should arrive no later than 12:30pm and the address for this access is the service entrance: 300 W Ton A Wandah Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28739

  • For the safety of the kids and the event, the Soccer Field parking lot is for VOLUNTEERS ONLY and is the lot that is off of Lake Falls Road. If you are participating in the event, you will not be able to access this parking lot.
    • There is no unloading zone, so park your car in the meadow. Unload and please take your bikes/helmets/shoes to the transition areas if you are doing the bike portion of the event (this is close to the meadow parking lot for this year in 2018!) AND walk to the GYM to pick up your race bib (if you didn't pick it up on Friday). The start line is close to the gym.


PACKET PICK UP AND REGISTRATION:

2:00—5:00 pm – Registration & Packet pick-up at the Mountain Community School, 613 Glover Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792 (map)

Friday, May 3rd at The Mountain Community School from 2-5pm. Please know your team name when you come to registration and packet pickup for easy pick up. We will give both team members’ bibs to one teammate, so whomever gets to packet pickup first will get both team members bibs, tees and goody bags.
Limited onsite registration will be available on a first come, first serve basis on Friday.

Questions about registration or last minute adjustments to teams? Please come Friday to packet pickup to ask these questions and to make any changes to registration. If you cannot attend Friday's packet pickup please email support@idaph.net.

Race Day - Sunday, April 29, 2018

Sunday, April 29th at Camp Ton-A-Wandah starting at 12pm (in the Gym).

If the race is FULL, there will not be any walk-up registration!

The GNAR begins with instructions and a safety briefing by the Race Director. Competitors are divided into three waves based on age and starts at set intervals. A start list will be available prior to race. An awards ceremony will take place immediately following the race.


Group Starts:

Group #1 starting at 1:00 pm - Competitive WITHOUT Bike Waves Start
Group #2 starting at 1:45 pm - Non-Competitive WITHOUT Bike Waves Start
Group #3 starting at 215 pm - Competitive with Bike Waves Start
Group #4 starting at 3:15 pm - Non-Competitive with Bike Waves start

PLEASE READ! IMPORTANT NEWS!

  • Arrive at least, ONE HOUR BEFORE for your scheduled start time. Wave starts mean slow moving cars and increased traffic.

  • All TEAM participants should bring with them sunscreen, a HELMET (no helmet = no bike race!), a BIKE that can be ridden on trails - MTB preferred (NO TRAINING WHEELS, must be able to go over rocks, stumps, thick grass), a WATER BOTTLE for transition or for on the bike, extra change of clothes, swimsuit if you choose to swim, a towel, a life vest (if you have one!), money for post race food!
  • Most importantly, this is a TEAM EVENT. You MUST Finish the race and cross the finish line with your Teammate.
  • No blocking, skipping in line at an obstacle. If you must pass on the Run or the bike portion, please do so on the left.
  • Bring cash for post-race food!
  • A swimming area will be open during the race (weather dependent) at Lake Ton-A-Wandah. Please follow all lifeguard instructions and only swim in designated beach area. All children must wear a life vest near/in the water. If you have a life vest, please bring this with you!
  • Keep Camp Ton-A-Wandah Clean! We want to come back year after year to do this fun, filled race. So help us by picking up trash and keeping the race site clean!
